Find information about Lincoln Land Community College volleyball team, NCAA, NAIA, and NJCAA standings and game results. Athletics program data follows where available. Further, a long list of college and university team schedules, individual player stats, and the latest game results, can be found below. If you are a player, on the other hand, you may compete either at the intercollegiate level for competitive sports, or simply play intramural sports to make new friends. Use your summer break to increase speed, and build muscle mass. It's important to keep coaching staff updated that you are training hard throughout the off-season.

It's a good idea to look at the graduation rate of athletes at the colleges you'll apply to. A lower graduation rate may indicate that the college accepts athletes whose academic record isn't strong enough to succeed in college over the long-term. Not all recruiting is done like NCAA Division I football and basketball. NAIA college coaches have less rules on when they are allowed to talk with recruits, and NJCAA scouts may show up at your high school games without any notice. It's practically impossible for college coaches to watch every player who has expressed interest in their program, so if you get the chance, make a memorable first impression by visiting the campus in person. Colleges that are eager to recruit star freshman athletes may urge student-athletes to apply via early decision. Students who are considering applying via early decision should be aware of the rules and obligations that this commitment entails.

Althletic Scholarship Information

Lincoln Land Community College volleyball teamYou don't have to quarterback the university football team to a state championship to earn an athletic scholarship. Most major sports that are able to field a team in intercollegiate competition have sports scholarships available. From women's gymnastics to men's track and field, coaches are seeking players to build a team around. That leadership role often is accompanied by a full-scholarship. The best time to begin searching for scholarships is before your senior year, in order to meet deadlines. Schools confirm that it is important to file financial aid forms such as the CSS profile early to qualify for the most competitive scholarships.

It's never too early to start planning for a sports scholarship. Take stock of your athletic abilities as you mature through high-school. Information on the financial aid scholarships page is derived from the US Department of Education.

Team Practices

So, you've been recruited, or made it past a walk-on tryout. That's when the real challenge starts. You still have to make it through daily practices, and several rounds of cuts. A college team practice is far more physical than high school, because the players are so much better. Returning players are put through their paces, run drills, lift weights, and do the running that comes with being on the team. Freshman and walk-ons, on the other hand, are special targets for the coaching staff, looking to test their ability. They are forced to run sprints and do agility drills, to see who's ready to quit before the game even starts.

Practice the basics, over and over, especially targeting skills related to your position. Become a super-specialist, and you'll always find your place on the team. Know that giving anything less than 100% effort will be resented by the team. Follow the advice that coaches give you, and it will make a big difference in how you play, because most coaches were star players earlier in their careers. If you get lazy, and decide to take it easy during practice, the coaches will take notice. Push yourself, work hard, and you'll improve as a player. Finally, find a position that you really like to play, don't just settle for what you're good at. Over the long haul, you'll have a better career.

Athletic Training Exercises

In the weight room, don't be fooled by players who are always pumping iron. It takes a lot more than big muscles to succeed in college sports. Players are becoming more agile, and developing superior game skills every year. You need to develop muscle strength as well, it's true, but your primary focus in weight training should be to use the equipment to help you develop strength along a natural range of motion. If your school doesn't have advanced machinery in the weight room, you're better off using free weights, and pulley systems that allow you to copy the same motions you make when playing.

Track stars have revealed the secret to developing running speed. By controlling your breathing, you can supply oxygen to your muscles before they start to cramp up. As lactic acid builds up, and muscle fatigue sets in, untrained players think they've reached their limit. Track stars, and well-coached basketball teams, train by sprinting short distances, over and over. It's not fun, but it works. After a few months of training, the lungs begin to process oxygen more efficiently, and players find that they can run long distances non-stop, or sprint for a longer period of time. To improve your endurance for long-distance running, drag a small car tire behind you, tied onto a long rope around your waist.

Create a Part-time Income Online

The goal here is to show you how to design a simple website that gets listed on search engines, and is able to generate a cash-flow within a few months. Sure, you've seen lots of sites telling you that it's easy to make money online, but if it was that easy, everyone would be rich. The truth is that creating a part-time income for yourself is possible, but it's a fair amount of work up-front. If you keep working on it a few hours a week, you can increase your daily earnings as your website develops. The basics are as follows:
Website Design Course
(Earn part-time income)
  1. Website design can be simplified, using templates and RSS feeds.
  2. Write one 900 word article daily, with original photos.
  3. Drive search engine traffic via on-page optimization.
  4. Get approved to Google AdSense, and other affiliate programs.
  5. Earn money, beginning with $1/day, and keep publishing.

Doing business online is one of your best options to raise extra income. Success is governed by two main factors, visitor traffic and sales conversions. Basically, you need to register a domain name describing the type of business you want to start, and then build the website using a template in HTML, adding a database and programming routines as needed. The easiest way to start is by opening a Wordpress blog, and monetizing with Google AdSense pay-per-click ads. You can drive targeted traffic to your website at a reasonable cost, by learning search engine optimization (SEO) techniques, and writing hundreds of pages of high-quality content. Just making a website isn't enough, if no-one can find it. You'll then need online marketing skills, and the ability to drive conversions. All of this takes work.
